UPDATE: On February 12th, 2013, after murdering yet another police officer, this piece of crap finally got what was coming to him, Texas BBQ style.
*********************************************************************************
In a nutshell: The "Assault Rifle" did it.
You are living in a cave somewhere if you are not aware of the past week’s events in Los Angeles. A 33- year old ex-cop named Chris Dorner, fired in 2009 for making false charges against the superior officer who was evaluating him. has gone on a murdering rampage which has so far resulted in 3 people being murdered. At this writing, the manhunt is still underway for him.
What stands out above the actual events as they unfold is the astounding silence of the media on his background. Dorner left a rage-filled manifesto before taking the plunge off the deep end in which he details all of the wrongs committed against him from the earliest days of his childhood.
You can read his entire manifesto (Warning: Graphic Content) here:

What Dorner said in part: In his salute to the mainstream media, he praised Chris Matthews, Soledad Obrien, Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper, Meredith Vera, Joe Scarborough, Brian Williams…among many others. He told Anderson Cooper to “keep up the great work”. He praised MSNBC, all of its hosts, as well as (of course) President Obama and a variety of Democrat politicians. He ripped into NRA President Wayne La Pierre. He supports gun control. (Talk about irony on that one). He heavily criticized those who oppose Obama’s policies. The list goes on…and on…and on, but, I digress.
What the media initially reported: ABC News issued a statement when the carnage began that simply said that an ex-police officer, armed with an ASSAULT RIFLE, was the subject of a manhunt in Los Angeles. Not a word initially on his mental illness or history of problems.
The point here is obvious. Does anyone….and I mean *anyone* with a brain think that we’d be hearing the same coverage from the media if Dorner had been found with a copy of Mark Levin’s “Liberty and Tyranny” in his car? Or worse, (horror of horrors), if Dorner had claimed to be a Tea Party Member? Or even worse in Liberal minds he had been a Rush Limbaugh listener? None of these are true, as a matter of fact the truth is the complete opposite and that is why the silence is deafening. They’re talking about Dorner's manifesto, but largely glossing over the fact that he is a Left-Wing extremist.
In the end, if Dorner had been anything but a Left Wing nutjob, the press would be featuring that fact Coast to Coast on a 24/7 basis. How they would love to pin this on the Tea Party.....or just an “assault rifle”.

Politics aside, this is yet another case of the gun-owner being someone who would always have gun access, even AFTER the great gun-control laws put into effect. I’m still waiting to see how the stricter gun control laws will keep the crazies from being crazy and still being able to find a gun. A friend of mine had his 24-yr old daughter murdered 7 years ago by her ex-boyfriend. He had a friend buy the gun for him because he was a former patient at a mental hospital and couldnt get one. The crazies are not stupid. Oh, and by the way, this murderer (who shot himself in the head after killing my friend’s daughter), was a teacher at an anger management class.
